Review guidelines
Good Job Reviews helps real customers write about real jobs. These guidelines keep it that way, and keep your reviews safe with Google and Australian law.
Do
- Only tick what really happened on the job.
- Ask every customer, not just the ones you think are happy.
- Make it clear the draft is a starting point, and they can change it or write their own.
- Reply to every review, good or bad, politely and helpfully.
Don't
- Don't post reviews yourself, or ask staff, friends or family to post them.
- Don't offer discounts, freebies or prizes in exchange for a review.
- Don't only send requests to happy customers, or ask unhappy ones not to review.
- Don't add details that didn't happen, or ask customers to post something they don't agree with.
Why it matters
Google removes reviews that break its policies, and the ACCC treats fake or misleading reviews seriously. Genuine reviews in the customer's own words are also the ones that help you most with new customers and in search.
